Day 6: What\'s Love Got To Do With It?
Day 6: What’s Love Got To Do With It
Today I want to leave you with a few thoughts on “Your First Love.” What exactly does this mean? When you study this out most conclusions point to those who have lost their first love.
Maybe it has to do with how you really feel about Jesus, how passionate you pursuit after him or even possibly your lack of focus/ attention given in His direction.
In Matthew 22, Jesus was asked to identify the greatest
commandment. He responded, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (vs 37).
If you are like most people, you live a life full of multitasking. You’ve got a dozen things going on at the same time and each one seems to demands the highest priority. The enemy is the master distractor, and he knows exactly which string to pull to stop everything you are doing and causes you to jump through a hoop. As you fast, allow each hunger pang and each thought of food to be a reminder to shift your focus back to the Lord rather than a distraction from your purpose. He is your Living Bread.
Remember to put first things first. You might have to stop, refuse and begin again; but I promise putting Jesus first will always be to your benefit. Scripture says He is a jealous God and He wants to be at the top of your list.
